Marie and Tanya Retire
(Jan 2013) Marie Nicholson-Hutt and Tanya Button retired as La Leche League Leaders at the end of 2013. Both feel the need to focus on their young families.
Margaret Retires
(Jan 2012) Margaret Bickmore retired as a La Leche League Leader at the end of 2011. LLL gave her a support network and friendships that saw her through breastfeeding her own three children. For 11 years as an LLL Leader she provided information and support to other women interested in breastfeeding. Margaret will miss the wonderful mothers and beautiful babies and children she was privileged to meet through LLL. She would like to assure all mothers of young children that mothering through breastfeeding, though sometimes intense, is really worth it!
(Jun 2010) New Edition of the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding La Leche League's classic book, The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, is being issued in a new edition in July 2010. The 8th edition is completely rewritten with updated references and the most current breastfeeding recommendations.
